Timezone

Some days ago I had a look at my 1 kg collection of Australian coins I'd accidentally collected over time, and decided to go spend it all on something very suitable. Me and Kristian walked into Timezone, Geelong's (most unnecessary time and money spender?)arcade, Timezone.

The reason I started such a collection must be the size of Australian coins. The 20 cent is just huge and the 50 cent humongous! My wallet wouldn't have made it through the year unless I'd have emptied some of the metal every now and then into this plastic box. The filled box as then put on the counter in Timezone, which was welcomed by a bewildered look on the employee's face. 14 bucks, total.

Timezone's a bit of a crazy teen place. We don't really have arcades like these back home, only shopping center spaces filled with slot machines usually occupied by elders, so it's been interesting to peek in every time I've walked past this installation. There's heaps of games, ranging from small scale bowling and candy grabbing to speed basket balling, shooting games and air hockey. We had a try at the most interesting ones.

Kristian's strengths seem to be in basket ball, he scored crazy points...

...whereas I felt more comfortable on the shooting range. Air hockey must be my all time favorite though, and there we beat each other up pretty even in the end!

It was a welcomed no-think-just-play hour for me after a rather isolated blog-update weekend before. Now I can easily ignore arcades for a few years to come, my needs for such entertainment are fulfilled for the moment!
